CVE-2026-47777 is a consent-verification flaw in Mastodon's experimental ActivityPub "Collections" feature. The vulnerability exists because the server-side validation of a remote account's consent to be featured in a remote Collection does not sufficiently verify that the FeatureAuthorization object corresponds to the same object referenced by the Collection item. Although Mastodon requires the FeatureAuthorization to reside on the same domain as the object it authorizes, a missing condition allows an attacker to forge a FeatureAuthorization object and make it appear that a remote account consented to inclusion in a Collection when it did not. According to the provided content, this affects Mastodon instances running the main branch or nightly builds with the experimental Collections feature enabled via the EXPERIMENTAL_FEATURES environment variable including "collections". The issue was patched in 4.6.0-beta.1.
