CVE-2026-48595 is an improper handling of case sensitivity flaw in the Elixir Tesla HTTP client library, affecting Tesla.Middleware.FollowRedirects. The vulnerable logic attempts to strip security-sensitive headers during cross-origin redirects by comparing runtime header names against a lowercase filter list using case-sensitive string matching. Because HTTP header names are defined as case-insensitive, but Tesla preserves caller-supplied header casing verbatim, headers supplied with canonical or mixed-case names such as Authorization can bypass the filter. As a result, when the client follows a cross-origin redirect, sensitive headers that should have been removed may be forwarded to the redirect destination. The issue affects tesla versions from 1.4.0 before 1.18.3.

A case-sensitivity flaw in Tesla's FollowRedirects header filtering logic that can leak sensitive headers such as Authorization across redirects because header names were compared without lowercasing, contrary to HTTP case-insensitive semantics.
A case-sensitivity flaw in elixir-tesla's redirect handling can leak Authorization credentials to a third-party origin during cross-origin redirects.
