CVE-2026-48863 is a stack-based buffer overflow in libsolv's PGP signature-verification component. Incorrect length handling occurs while copying the EdDSA signature s MPI into a stack-allocated buffer. A malicious Ed25519 PGP signature with mismatched MPI lengths can cause an out-of-bounds stack write when libsolv processes the signature, including during automated package or repository metadata processing.
