CVE-2026-49423 is a remote denial-of-service vulnerability in FreeBSD Kernel TLS (KTLS) receive processing. The flaw occurs while handling TLS 1.2 CBC records, where a remote TLS peer can cause the kernel to read uninitialized iovec entries during HMAC computation. According to the advisory, exploitation depends on a specific record layout in which the first mbuf of a CBC record contains only the 5-byte TLS record header. This uninitialized memory access can trigger a kernel panic on systems using receive-side KTLS.
