CVE-2026-50219 is a use-after-free vulnerability in libexpat before version 2.8.2. libexpat did not track handler call depth when selected parser APIs were invoked re-entrantly from an application callback during policy-violation handling. Calls to XML_GetBuffer, XML_Parse, XML_ParseBuffer, XML_ParserFree, or XML_ParserReset from within handlers could invalidate parser state while it remained in use, resulting in memory corruption.
