CVE-2026-52747 is a request inspection integrity flaw in libmodsecurity affecting OWASP ModSecurity versions prior to 3.0.16. The vulnerability is in the multipart/form-data request body parser, which silently removes embedded line breaks from non-file form-field values before exporting them to ARGS and ARGS_POST. The root cause is a logic error in multipart parsing in which reserved bytes are overwritten rather than the current buffer being appended, causing carriage return and line feed characters embedded in form-field values to be lost during inspection. This creates a parser differential between ModSecurity and backend applications that preserve those line breaks, so the WAF may analyze a normalized value that differs from the value actually processed by the application. As a result, security rules inspecting ARGS or ARGS_POST can fail to detect malicious payloads whose dangerous semantics depend on preserved line breaks.

A vulnerability in ModSecurity's multipart/form-data parser that strips embedded line breaks from non-file form fields before exporting them to ARGS and ARGS_POST, creating a parser differential that can let WAF rules miss malicious payloads dependent on line breaks.
A high-severity vulnerability in libmodsecurity's multipart/form-data parser that strips embedded line breaks from non-file form fields during inspection, enabling request inspection bypass through parser mismatch.
