CVE-2026-52924 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel SCTP implementation's stale COOKIE-ECHO handling. When receipt of a Stale Cookie ERROR rolls an association from COOKIE_ECHOED back to COOKIE_WAIT, sctp_stream_update() replaces and frees the prior stream table without invalidating the outbound scheduler cache, stream->out_curr. If user data was already queued or bundled with the COOKIE-ECHO, queued and retransmission state can also retain references to the obsolete stream state. Subsequent SCTP scheduler dequeue operations, including FCFS, round-robin, and priority scheduling paths, may dereference the freed stream entry.
