CVE-2026-53185 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel zram subsystem's zram_bvec_write_partial() path. For a ZRAM_WB slot, zram_bvec_write_partial() passes its parent bio to zram_read_page(), which selects an asynchronous backing-device read path. zram_read_page() can return before that read completes; the caller subsequently copies from the page, writes it, and frees it. The outstanding asynchronous read can then write into the freed page. The analogous partial-read path had already been changed to force synchronous reads, but the corresponding partial-write path was omitted.
