CVE-2026-53325 is a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel's AMD64 AGP driver caused by incorrect error propagation in agp_amd64_probe(). When no AMD northbridge is present, cache_nbs() returns -ENODEV, but the probe function checks only for a return value of -1 instead of any negative value. Initialization consequently continues through agp_add_bridge() to amd64_fetch_size(), which accesses the misc member of a NULL pointer returned by node_to_amd_nb(0). This causes a General Protection Fault and can crash the kernel. The failure was observed in virtualized environments, including QEMU/KVM, without a physical AMD northbridge.

A Linux kernel AMD64 AGP driver vulnerability that can cause a crash and local denial of service. The probe function incorrectly checks whether cache_nbs() returns exactly -1 instead of any negative error code, masking -ENODEV when AMD northbridge hardware is absent. Initialization then proceeds and dereferences a NULL pointer in amd64_fetch_size(). The reference assigns a CVSS v3 score of 5.5 and recommends updating the linux package and related packages to version 6.1.177-1 or later.
