CVE-2026-53391 is a NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel NFSv4/pNFS multipath data-server address decoder, nfs4_decode_mp_ds_addr. While decoding r_netid and r_addr fields from a netaddr4 structure in a GETDEVICEINFO multipath-DS response, the code accepted a zero-length encoded r_addr. The string-decoding routine returned success while leaving the decoded address pointer NULL; subsequent port-separator parsing dereferenced that NULL pointer. The fix rejects zero-length address values as malformed GETDEVICEINFO data and returns -EBADMSG.
