CVE-2026-54284 is an algorithmic-complexity denial-of-service vulnerability in sqlparse versions prior to 0.6.0. TokenList construction and string conversion repeatedly flatten nested token subtrees generated by parenthesis and CASE grouping. Crafted SQL with deeply nested parentheses or CASE expressions causes repeated subtree materialization and quadratic CPU consumption through sqlparse.parse(), sqlparse.format(), and sqlparse.split(). Configured depth and token limits eventually terminate processing, but only after excessive computation has occurred.
