CVE-2026-54370 is a time-of-check to time-of-use race condition affecting acl before version 2.4.0. A local attacker controlling a pathname component can replace it with a symbolic link after an lstat() check but before subsequent symlink-following operations, including stat(), chown(), chmod(), acl_get_file(), and acl_set_file(). When a privileged process invokes getfacl, setfacl, or chacl on an attacker-controlled path, this substitution can redirect ACL and related file operations to arbitrary files, potentially enabling local privilege escalation.
