CVE-2026-54371 is a symlink traversal vulnerability in the getfattr and setfattr utilities in attr before version 2.6.0. During directory hierarchy traversal, the utilities construct and access full pathnames. A local attacker controlling a pathname component can replace a directory with a symbolic link, redirecting privileged extended-attribute operations to arbitrary files. Exploitation can cause local privilege escalation when a privileged process invokes the utilities on an attacker-controlled path. Related recursive traversal flaws also affect the getfacl, setfacl, and chacl utilities, and unsafe pathname resolution can occur during backup restoration.

A vulnerability published on June 29, 2026, with a patch published on June 30, 2026. The CVSS v3 and v4 vectors describe local exploitation requiring low privileges and no user interaction, with high confidentiality and integrity impacts and no availability impact. The CVSS v2 vector instead indicates network access and complete confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts. The content does not identify the affected product or underlying flaw.
A moderate-severity vulnerability referenced by a CentOS 8.5 TuxCare local security-check plugin. The provided CVSS v3.0 vector indicates it requires local access and low privileges, has high attack complexity, requires no user interaction, and can result in high confidentiality and integrity impact without availability impact.
A moderate-severity, local vulnerability addressed by a TuxCare CentOS 8.4 live-security advisory. Successful exploitation requires local access, low privileges, and high attack complexity, and may result in high confidentiality and integrity impact but no availability impact.
A locally exploitable Huawei EulerOS UVP 2.12.0 vulnerability with high confidentiality and integrity impact and no availability impact, according to the supplied CVSS vectors.
