CVE-2026-54512 is a polymorphic-deserialization validation bypass in jackson-databind, introduced in version 2.10.0 and fixed in versions 2.18.8, 2.21.4, and 3.1.4 for their respective branches. When a type identifier contains generic parameters, DatabindContext._resolveAndValidateGeneric() validates only the raw container class against the configured PolymorphicTypeValidator. After approving that container, it uses TypeFactory.constructFromCanonical() to resolve the complete parameterized type without validating nested type arguments. An attacker controlling the type identifier can consequently cause otherwise-denied classes to be loaded, instantiated, and populated with attacker-controlled JSON properties. This bypasses the configured allow-list and can enable arbitrary code execution when suitable gadget classes are available.
