CVE-2026-54900 is an integer-truncation flaw in the Oj Ruby gem's usual-mode parser when create_id is enabled. In affected releases, Oj::Parser#parse handles object attributes through form_attr, where a JSON object-key length of exactly 65,535 bytes is narrowed to a signed value of -1 before being supplied to memcpy. The resulting conversion to size_t makes memcpy attempt an extremely large copy, corrupting heap memory and crashing the Ruby process.
