CVE-2026-5545 is an authentication-bypass flaw in libcurl connection-pool reuse logic. When an application issues an authenticated HTTP(S) request to a host after a live HTTP Negotiate-authenticated connection to that same host has been established with different credentials, libcurl can incorrectly reuse the existing connection. The subsequent request is transmitted on the connection authenticated as the first user rather than under the credentials requested for the second operation. The issue affects curl and libcurl versions 7.10.6 through 8.19.0 and is fixed in 8.20.0.
