CVE-2026-55490 is a vulnerability in OpenWrt's Emergency Access Daemon (ead) affecting versions before 25.12.5. The flaw is an integer underflow in the handle_send_a() function when processing a network message. The message length is decremented or otherwise transformed in a way that can underflow before the subsequent bounds check occurs. The resulting value is then passed to memcpy() as an extremely large size, leading to invalid memory handling and process termination. The issue is reachable before authentication and can be triggered by a single crafted UDP packet from an attacker on the local network segment.
