CVE-2026-55596 is a DOM-based cross-site scripting vulnerability in the @platejs/media component of the Plate rich-text editor affecting versions 53.0.0 through versions before 53.1.4. The media embed state logic trusted serialized provider or sourceUrl metadata and bypassed parseMediaUrl protocol validation. An attacker could construct a Plate-compatible media node that identifies a recognized video provider while supplying a javascript: URL. The media embed renderer could then place that unvalidated URL directly into an iframe src when the document was rendered in a victim's browser.
