CVE-2026-56004 is a high-severity command injection flaw in the Mercurial handler of the OBS tar_scm source service (obs-service-tar_scm). Versions prior to 0.12.4 are affected. The issue is described as a shellcode injection vulnerability triggered when processing a malicious _service file. An attacker who can supply such a _service file can cause the vulnerable handler to execute attacker-controlled code during service processing or checkout operations.
