CVE-2026-56287 is a boolean-based SQL injection vulnerability in Apache Fineract's Client Search API, specifically the GET /api/v1/clients endpoint, affecting versions up to and including 1.14.0. The flaw arises because the orderBy and sortOrder request parameters are concatenated into a SQL query without sufficient validation. An authenticated user with permission to view clients can supply a crafted orderBy value to inject arbitrary SQL into the backend query. Successful exploitation enables blind boolean-based data extraction from the underlying database. In MySQL and MariaDB deployments, the issue can also be leveraged to invoke database file-reading functionality such as LOAD_FILE(), allowing disclosure of files readable by the database process.
