CVE-2026-56859 is an uncontrolled-recursion vulnerability in Go's encoding/xml package. During XML decoding, DecodeElement reset the decoder recursion-depth counter, preventing the configured depth guard from triggering. A sufficiently deeply nested XML document could therefore drive unbounded recursive processing and exhaust the Go process stack.
