CVE-2026-56860 is an algorithmic-complexity denial-of-service vulnerability in Go's net/url package. The resolvePath logic for relative paths containing parent-directory ("..") segments repeatedly performed string conversions and rewrote buffers at each resolution step. Crafted inputs with sufficient parent-directory segments could therefore cause quadratic execution time and excessive memory allocation. The corrected implementation resolves paths in a byte buffer and uses index-based backtracking for parent-directory handling.
