CVE-2026-5752 is a critical sandbox escape vulnerability in Terrarium, an open-source Python sandbox used to run untrusted code in Docker containers. The flaw is attributed to JavaScript prototype chain traversal in the Pyodide WebAssembly environment, which fails to adequately prevent sandboxed code from accessing parent or global object prototypes in the host environment. By traversing and manipulating the JavaScript prototype chain, an attacker can bypass the intended isolation boundary of the sandbox and achieve arbitrary code execution in the host Node.js process. Reported impact includes execution of arbitrary system commands as root within the container, with potential access to sensitive files and other reachable services.
