CVE-2026-5757 is an unauthenticated remote information disclosure vulnerability in Ollama’s model quantization engine, reachable via the model upload interface. The issue is triggered by a specially crafted GGUF model file whose embedded metadata is trusted without proper validation. According to the provided context, Ollama fails to verify that the declared element count matches the actual backing data size, then uses Go unsafe memory handling via unsafe.Slice in a way that permits reads beyond the legitimate buffer. This out-of-bounds read reaches adjacent heap memory, and the leaked data is then written into a newly created model layer. Because Ollama can subsequently push that layer through its built-in registry API, an attacker can exfiltrate heap contents remotely. Exposed memory may include credentials, API tokens, encryption keys, and private prompts.
