CVE-2026-5795 is a privilege-escalation vulnerability in Eclipse Jetty's Jakarta Authentication (JASPI) integration. JASPIAuthenticator stores request authentication state in two ThreadLocal variables during authentication processing. Certain incomplete or error authentication paths return early before cleanup executes, leaving the authentication metadata associated with a pooled worker thread. When Jetty reuses that thread for an unrelated subsequent request, the later request can inherit the prior request's authentication context, including its identity and security roles. The condition constitutes failure to remove sensitive information before thread reuse and can result in improper authentication and broken access control.

An Eclipse Jetty JASPIAuthenticator flaw where early return occurs without clearing ThreadLocal variables.
A vulnerability additionally addressed by the same patch as CVE-2026-2332.
A Jetty vulnerability where early return from the JASPIAuthenticator class fails to clear ThreadLocal variables.
An improper authentication and sensitive data leakage flaw in Eclipse Jetty's JASPI integration where uncleared ThreadLocal authentication state in JaspiAuthenticator can leak one user's identity and privileges to a subsequent request on a reused pooled thread, enabling privilege escalation.
