CVE-2026-6145 is an authorization bypass vulnerability in the User Registration & Membership plugin for WordPress affecting all versions through 5.1.5. The flaw is caused by the is_admin_creation_process() method treating the mere presence of the request parameter action=createuser in the request superglobal as sufficient to identify an administrative account-creation workflow, without enforcing authentication or verifying user capabilities. As a result, the plugin's fallback submission path can be abused by an unauthenticated remote attacker to make a registration request appear to be an administrator-driven user creation event, bypassing the intended admin approval requirement for new accounts.

Repository contains a Python proof-of-concept exploit and a detailed README for CVE-2026-6145 affecting the User Registration & Membership WordPress plugin up to version 5.1.5. The exploit is a standalone script, not tied to a common exploitation framework. Its purpose is to demonstrate unauthenticated creation of an auto-approved user account by chaining three behaviors in the plugin: unauthenticated nonce retrieval via the wp_ajax_nopriv action user_registration_get_recent_nonce, bypass of AJAX nonce enforcement through the ur_fallback_submit path, and the core authorization flaw where adding action=createuser to the request causes the plugin's is_admin_creation_process() logic to treat the registration as administrator-created. The script structure is straightforward: banner/argument parsing, step1_get_nonce() to POST to /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php and retrieve a nonce, step2_register_bypass() to submit crafted registration fields to the site root with ?action=createuser, and step3_verify_bypass() to confirm the account was created and approved. The exploit’s main capability is unauthorized account creation with approval bypass and suppressed admin notification, making it more than a detector but still a focused PoC/operational exploit rather than a broader weaponized toolkit.
