CVE-2026-61642 is a CWE-841 improper enforcement of behavioral workflow vulnerability in Squid that permits HTTP/1.1 Transfer-Encoding request smuggling. A client trusted by the affected Squid proxy can smuggle requests through the HTTP/1.1 processing path, bypassing security mechanisms deployed between that client and Squid. If an HTTP cache is positioned upstream of the affected Squid instance, the flaw can also be used to inject attacker-controlled content into cached URLs.

A vulnerability addressed by Amazon Linux advisory ALAS-2026-3961 affecting Squid-related packages on Amazon Linux 2. The supplied CVSS v3 vector indicates network-reachable exploitation requiring no privileges or user interaction, with high integrity impact.
A network-exploitable, low-complexity vulnerability with no required privileges or user interaction that can compromise integrity. The referenced Amazon Linux 2023 advisory addresses Squid debug packages.
An important Squid HTTP/1.1 Transfer-Encoding request-smuggling vulnerability caused by improper enforcement of behavioral workflow (CWE-841). A trusted client can bypass intermediary security controls; where an HTTP cache precedes affected Squid, the flaw can also enable web-cache poisoning and delivery of arbitrary malicious content from poisoned URLs to subsequent clients.
A network-accessible, low-complexity vulnerability rated CVSS v3 9.8 that affects Debian Linux 12.0 and 13.0. The provided content identifies it through an unpatched-vulnerability detection plugin but does not describe the underlying flaw or affected component.
