CVE-2026-61808 is a missing-authentication vulnerability in HKUDS LightRAG affecting versions through 1.5.4. In the default configuration, the LightRAG API server listens on all network interfaces while authentication is disabled, exposing administrative and data-handling API functionality to unauthenticated remote users. A network attacker can interact directly with API endpoints to read indexed document content, upload or delete documents, modify the knowledge graph, cancel processing pipelines, clear caches, and trigger LLM-backed operations. The issue stems from insecure default exposure of critical API functions rather than a memory-corruption flaw or complex exploit chain.
