CVE-2026-62426 is an improper-locking vulnerability in Xen sysctl system-management operations. Sysctl operations invoked by the control domain or a possible Xenstore domain use a system-wide lock because certain operations cannot execute concurrently. The lock-acquisition mechanism does not provide fairness, allowing lock contention or starvation to be abused. In configurations using XSM/Flask, certain sysctl operations acquire the lock before their permissions are checked, permitting an entity that ultimately lacks authorization to influence lock availability.
