CVE-2026-62427 is a denial-of-service vulnerability in Xen platform operations. Xen uses platform-op interfaces for privileged system management by the control domain or, in some deployments, a Xenstore domain. Because certain platform operations must not execute concurrently, Xen protects them with a system-wide lock. The vulnerable behavior is that lock acquisition does not provide fairness, allowing one actor to monopolize or repeatedly win access to the lock. In configurations using XSM/Flask, some affected platform operations may acquire the lock before permission checks are performed, enabling even unauthorized requests to participate in lock contention before access control rejects them. This creates a resource-starvation condition in Xen’s platform-op handling.
