CVE-2026-62432 is a race condition in Xen event channel handling, tracked in XSA-505. The flaw is in the EVTCHNOP_expand_array hypercall, which checks whether FIFO event channels are enabled without holding the correct lock. Because this state check is not properly synchronized, EVTCHNOP_expand_array can race with EVTCHNOP_reset, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. The issue affects Xen versions 4.5 and later. The primary consequence is a Xen crash, and for x86 PV guests the resulting state corruption may also create a risk of memory corruption or possible privilege escalation.
