CVE-2026-6297 is a critical use-after-free vulnerability in the Proxy component of Google Chrome. The flaw affects Chrome versions prior to 147.0.7727.101 on Linux and prior to 147.0.7727.101/102 on Windows and macOS. The vulnerable condition arises from incorrect lifetime management of a proxy-related object in Chromium's networking stack, leading to dereference of a stale pointer after the object has been freed. An attacker in a privileged network position can trigger the vulnerable code path by causing a target to load a crafted HTML page. Successful exploitation can cross Chrome's normal process isolation boundary and result in a sandbox escape.
