CVE-2026-6317 is a high-severity use-after-free vulnerability in the Cast component of Google Chrome. The flaw affects Chrome versions prior to 147.0.7727.101 and arises when a Cast-related object is accessed after its underlying memory has been freed, creating a dangling pointer condition. A remote attacker can trigger the vulnerable state through a crafted HTML page and potentially reclaim the freed memory with attacker-controlled data, which may allow redirection of execution flow within the browser process. The issue is remotely reachable and requires user interaction in the form of visiting a malicious webpage.
