CVE-2026-63384 is an integer-conversion vulnerability in Libevent's tagged-RPC processing code in event_tagging.c. Before Libevent 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha, evtag_unmarshal_header uses evtag_decode_int to decode an attacker-controlled unsigned 32-bit payload length but returns the result as a signed int. Payload lengths greater than INT_MAX may become negative or truncated. evtag_unmarshal_string can subsequently use the converted length for allocation sizing, resulting in a wrapped large allocation request and denial of service.
