CVE-2026-63385 affects Libevent versions before 2.1.13 and versions from 2.2.0-alpha before 2.2.2-alpha. Two HTTP parsing weaknesses in http.c produce inconsistent interpretation of HTTP data. evhttp_decode_uri_internal decodes percent-encoded NUL bytes into literal NUL characters, allowing subsequent C string operations to truncate a URI path and potentially bypass validation performed on its encoded representation. Separately, evhttp_header_is_valid_value accepts obsolete folded header values containing carriage-return or line-feed characters, enabling parsing differentials between Libevent and an HTTP proxy. The header-folding flaw is fixed in 2.1.13 and 2.2.2-alpha; the available patch review does not clearly establish that the URI NUL-truncation condition is remediated.
