CVE-2026-63800 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel Parallel NFS (pNFS) layout-update path. In the NFS_LAYOUT_RETURN branch of pnfs_update_layout(), after pnfs_prepare_to_retry_layoutget() succeeds, the affected code releases the layout-header object with pnfs_put_layout_hdr() before invoking trace_pnfs_update_layout(). The tracepoint accesses fields in the released layout-header object, resulting in a stale-memory access.
