CVE-2026-63879 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel DRM AMDGPU subsystem, specifically in amdgpu_hmm_range_get_pages. The flaw stems from reading the notifier sequence more than once during HMM page-range handling. Because the notifier sequence can change between reads, the function can proceed using pages that are no longer valid, creating a race-condition and time-of-check/time-of-use style flaw in kernel memory handling. The issue was resolved by ensuring the notifier sequence is read only once during the operation.
