CVE-2026-6429 is a credential-disclosure vulnerability in libcurl versions 7.14.0 through 8.19.0 inclusive. When netrc-based credentials and HTTP redirect following are enabled, libcurl can leak the password used for the original host to the redirect destination. Exploitation requires both URLs to use cleartext HTTP, both requests to traverse the same HTTP proxy, and reuse of the same proxied connection. The curl command-line tool is not affected. The vulnerability is fixed in libcurl 8.20.0.
