CVE-2026-64621 is a double-free vulnerability in FreeRDP before 3.28.0, affecting 3.x releases through 3.27.1. The flaw is in freerdp_client_rdp_file_apply_to_settings() in client/common/file.c while parsing the selectedmonitors field of an .rdp connection file. The MonitorIds array is allocated through the settings object, but on the strtoul error path a raw non-owning pointer to that allocation is freed without clearing settings->MonitorIds. This leaves a dangling pointer that is later freed again during freerdp_settings_free(), resulting in a double-free condition. The issue can be triggered by a crafted .rdp file containing oversized monitor tokens and affects FreeRDP CLI clients including xfreerdp, sdl-freerdp, and wlfreerdp in default configurations.
