CVE-2026-6469 is an incorrect authorization vulnerability in PostgreSQL's ALTER TABLE ... ALTER TYPE processing. When the operation affects a table with dependent extended statistics objects, PostgreSQL can incorrectly reassign ownership of those statistics objects to the user executing the command rather than retaining their prior owner. This permits a table owner to gain ownership-derived authority over statistics objects that were previously owned by another role.
