CVE-2026-6470 is a missing-authorization vulnerability in PostgreSQL DDL processing. Certain paths that assign a range subtype or reference a type from an SQL expression fail to verify the required USAGE privilege on that type. An object creator can therefore create an unauthorized dependency on a type, despite lacking permission to use it. The dependency prevents subsequent ALTER and DROP operations affecting the type. PostgreSQL versions before 18.6, 17.11, 16.15, 15.19, and 14.24 are affected.
