CVE-2026-64831 is a stack-based buffer overflow in FFmpeg versions 8.0 through 8.1.2 in the Vulkan HEVC hardware decoder. When processing a crafted HEVC/H.265 bitstream, an unchecked vps_num_hrd_parameters value exceeding HEVC_MAX_SUB_LAYERS can cause stack-allocated arrays in vk_hevc_end_frame to overflow. The resulting memory corruption may overwrite adjacent stack frames and return addresses.
