CVE-2026-65609 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in nnn, confirmed in version 5.2. The flaw is caused by insufficient validation of attacker-controlled length fields deserialized from a session file. When nnn loads a crafted session file using the -s option, it can write beyond the bounds of fixed-size global buffers, resulting in corruption of adjacent global state. The issue is triggered during processing of session data supplied through a maliciously crafted session file placed where the victim's nnn instance will load it.
