CVE-2026-65612 is an OS command injection vulnerability in the nnn file manager. The flaw exists because nnn does not properly sanitize the filename variable before embedding it into a shell command generated by the preview-tabbed workflow. An attacker can prepare a file whose name contains a single quote followed by shell metacharacters or shell syntax and place it where a victim is likely to browse to it, such as on a shared filesystem, removable media, or within extracted archive contents. When the victim navigates to the crafted file in nnn and opens it with preview-tabbed, the malicious filename is incorporated into the constructed shell command, causing attacker-controlled shell code to execute in the context of the nnn process. Version 5.2 is confirmed vulnerable; a complete vulnerable version range is currently not available.
