FreeRDP versions before 3.29.0 contain a client-side heap use-after-free in the asynchronous update message proxy handling RAIL WINDOW_ICON_ORDER messages when AsyncUpdate is enabled. In update_message_WindowIcon(), a shallow CopyMemory operation replaces a newly allocated iconInfo member with a parser-owned iconInfo pointer. After the parser callback returns, update_recv_window_info_order() frees the parser-owned allocation while a queued asynchronous message still retains the stale pointer. A malicious or compromised RDP server can send a crafted RAIL Window Alternate Secondary Order containing WINDOW_ORDER_ICON to trigger subsequent use of the freed memory.
