CVE-2026-69439 is a CWE-122 heap-based buffer overflow in .NET and Visual Studio associated with parsing specially crafted Portable PDB data through Microsoft.DiaSymReader.Native and related packages. Malformed metadata stream headers can cause an attacker-controlled block count to produce an undersized heap allocation, followed by out-of-bounds writes while parsing the declared blocks. The corruption can affect adjacent heap objects and control-flow-relevant pointers, enabling code execution in the affected process and resulting in elevation of privilege.

An integer-overflow-driven heap buffer overflow in a native metadata parser. A malicious metadata stream can cause the parser to allocate an undersized heap buffer and copy the full attacker-controlled payload into it, enabling adjacent pointer/vtable corruption and potential arbitrary code execution in the host process.
A high-severity elevation-of-privilege vulnerability in Microsoft.DiaSymReader.Native, caused by an out-of-bounds write while parsing a Portable PDB file. It affects Windows .NET projects using vulnerable package versions.
A heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerability in Microsoft.DiaSymReader.Native, affecting .NET and Visual Studio, that can allow an unauthenticated attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
A high-severity elevation-of-privilege vulnerability affecting the Microsoft.DiaSymReader.Native library and related .NET/Visual Studio packages.
