CVE-2026-70492 is a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in Open WebUI affecting versions 0.10.0 through before 0.11.0. The flaw is in the message rendering component src/lib/components/chat/Messages/Markdown/KatexRenderer.svelte. A crafted chat message containing a math block can trigger a KaTeX stack overflow instead of a normal parse error. On that error path, the catch branch inserts the original attacker-controlled math source back into the page as HTML via Svelte's raw HTML rendering mechanism rather than escaping it as text. As a result, malicious HTML or JavaScript embedded in the stored message executes in the browser of any user who later views the message, including in shared chats and channels.
