CVE-2026-70619 is a missing authorization vulnerability in Odysseus affecting versions before commit bf325f6b2185cb42bc5d8f5713a64aecffb766d4. Endpoint management routes responsible for server-wide embedding backend configuration validate that the requester has an authenticated session but fail to enforce an administrator authorization check. As a result, an authenticated non-admin user can invoke these routes to modify or delete the global embedding backend configuration. By replacing the configured backend with an attacker-controlled service, the attacker can cause subsequent embedding-related operations to be redirected externally. The modified configuration is persisted in both the endpoint configuration file and the process environment, making the change durable until corrected.
