CVE-2026-71136 is an easily exploitable vulnerability in the Core component of Oracle VM VirtualBox affecting supported version 7.2.14. Exploitation requires a high-privileged attacker with logon access to the infrastructure where Oracle VM VirtualBox executes. Successful exploitation can compromise Oracle VM VirtualBox itself, and because the issue has scope change, the effects may extend to additional products or components reachable through the vulnerable environment. The vulnerability allows unauthorized read access to a subset of accessible data, unauthorized modification of some accessible data including update, insert, or delete operations, and the ability to trigger a hang or frequently repeatable crash resulting in complete denial of service. Specific vulnerable functions or code paths are not currently available.
