CVE-2026-71225 is an initialization-vector reuse flaw in libkcapi one-shot symmetric-cipher processing. For inputs larger than 64 KiB, internal chunking in stateful cipher modes, including CTR and CBC, resets the cipher state at chunk boundaries and reuses the initialization vector for subsequent chunks rather than carrying forward the required state. This breaks the security assumptions of the affected encryption operations.
